Oils and Wax: An Introduction

Oil Pigment Sticks applied to the surface of an encaustic painting can yield quite spectacular and luminous results.

Although the combination of encaustics and oils can lead to gorgeous results, disastrous results are also possible unless you have a solid understanding of safe and unsafe practices.

During this session, you’ll build a fundamental understanding of how to avoid issues such as encaustics that never harden, oils that never dry, paintings with mushy spots and others that are susceptible to cracking apart…

Participating artists will also have free access to an online tutorial by the instructor highlighting the key points to keep in mind when combining oils and encaustics.
