Wax Over Water: Creating Luminous Images

Create works that convey a sense of being lit from within through the use of layers of encaustic medium combined with a wide range of other media including oils with beeswax, India inks and watercolors.

Our focus will be on ways we can layer these media to achieve truly luminous results. Although you will not be working with hot encaustic paints during our sessions, the instructor will coat panels with encaustic medium between sessions so that you experience the textural and translucent qualities that encaustics add to your multimedia paintings.
