The Costumed Portrait

This weekend workshop will feature a model in costumed clothing and a setting that implies a narrative. After posing and lighting the model, Woolley will show students how to begin. Students will then start their own work, with Woolley giving individualized instruction easel-to-easel. Throughout the workshop there will be mini-demonstrations covering relevant topics such as getting the right proportions, color theory and mixing good skin tones, and how to paint the varied textures found in the costume and setting.

There will be a group critique with refreshments at the end of each day.
