SKU: SPR8 1/09/2023 - 1/30/2023 Category: Classes and Workshops

Winter landscapes can be absolutely enchanting! Capture and explore a wintery wonderland through scenic vistas and other motifs while learning a variety of techniques to design an effective focal area in your composition. This fun and engaging online workshop will surely get your creativity flowing. Learn sketching and painting tips and techniques to create lively and beautiful, wintry works of art that reveal an integral, visual dialog between drawing and painting. These methods and techniques are also great for working up ideas in composition and color for larger paintings in any medium or as an underpainting technique. You may choose to just watch or to sketch and paint along, step-by-step, with noted artist and very popular instructor Robert Carsten, using a combination of pencil, pen, watercolor and opaque white. Working on a small scale, we’ll create graphite and ink line and watercolor wash paintings from photos. Each week we will focus on a different subject utilizing diverse approaches and techniques. Photos and a materials list provided via Dropbox, where participants can also share zoom-class work or optional homework for Robert’s written critiques.
