Sketch and Paint Along with Robert: Nature Studies in Pastel / Capturing detail, light and shadow

$126.00

SKU: SPR13 05/29/2023 - 06/19/2023 Category: Classes and Workshops

An intimate, detailed study of natural elements can be as powerful as any panoramic vista and perhaps more poetic in its visual statement. Nature studies have been an important part of both Western and Eastern art for centuries, producing firsthand glimpses of subjects that inspired artists through form, color and light. Let nature be your guide to a realm of beauty often unnoticed in today’s busy world. Whether a handful of river stones or a blossoming branch, the beauty of nature is an immeasurable source as a springboard of inspiration. Robert will show and discuss compositional ideas, light effects, use of color and more to foster our own creativity. Whether you are a beginner or experienced, you’re bound to be inspired as you learn stylistic concepts and practices. You may work in any drawing or painting medium. Robert will be working in pastel pencils and pastel sticks. You may choose to just watch or to sketch and paint along, step-by-step, with very popular instructor, Robert Carsten. Each week we will see examples and focus on a different subject, utilizing diverse approaches and techniques. Photos and a materials list provided via Dropbox, where participants can also share zoom class work or optional homework for written critique. All levels welcome.
