Whether you are new to painting in acrylics or experienced, this fun and engaging zoom workshop will surely get your creativity flowing. Learn painting tips and techniques in this fun and easy-to-use medium while working on your choice of paper, canvas or board. Using a simple palette of colors, Robert will demonstrate methods and materials, and concentrate on organizing compositional design to better enhance depth; techniques to enliven the surface appearance of our landscape paintings, and more You may choose to just watch or to sketch and paint along, step-by-step, with noted artist and very popular instructor Robert Carsten. Each week we will focus on a different type of landscape, utilizing diverse approaches and techniques. Photos and a materials list provided via Dropbox, where participants can also share zoom class work or optional homework for written critique. All levels welcome.

Week 1: Scenic landscape: Developing composition and thin application technique

Week 2: Scenic landscape: Controlling overall tone value and color temperature for harmonious effects

Week 3: Scenic landscape: Glazing and scumbling techniques to achive luminosity and broken color effects

Week 4: Scenic landscape: Impasto and loaded brush techniques to achieve exciting textural and colorful effects
