Self-isolating at home? It’s the perfect time to work on your drawing skills by copying the old masters. John A. Varriano will guide you through this time-honored tradition that was practiced by all of the masters we will be studying. This interactive class will analyze the portrait and human figure in terms of masses, planes and construction lines. Students will be asked to make copies of lesson plates and master drawings. The class will combine lecture, demonstrations, and critiques of students’ works.
Wednesdays 10 AM: April 21, 28, May 5, 12

“I am so impressed with your program. John V is incredibly generous with his time in the critiques and I have learned so much from them. Not only is he an incredible talent, he is a gifted teacher–always able to find the best
way to convey whatever corrections are needed in a very generous and open way.”
