Marlene Wiedenbaum, PSA-MP, is a graduate of Queens College, SUNY New Paltz & attended the Art Students League in NYC. Her award winning paintings have been exhibited internationally, including the 2010, 12, 14 & 16th International Pastel Artists Invitational in Taipei, Taiwan and the Xian Art Museum, China. As a result, her work is among six International Master Pastelists featured in two text books commissioned by the Taiwanese government. Marlene is an International Honorable Member of the Beijing Pastel Research Academy. In April 2017, Marlene’s work was accepted into the International Association of Pastel Societies 30th Exhibit Convention in New Mexico.
In May 2015, Fine Art Connoisseur featured her exhibit of Hudson Valley Landscapes in their online newsletter, Fine Art Today. In 2012, Marlene was selected out of 1500 artists as one of 10 Semi-Finalists for the prestigious Basil H. Alkazzi Excellence in Painting Awards. In 2010, Marlene was awarded a residency at Platte Clove through The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development.
Wiedenbaum was profiled in the Summer 2016 issue of Art Times, and featured artist in Art Times November 2010 issue and the December ‘09 issue of American Artist. Her painting Downriver from Potown was selected by American Artist for their 2011 calendar.
She teaches pastel classes & plein-air workshops in the Hudson Valley. An award winning Signature Member and Master Pastelist of the Pastel Society of America, Marlene is also an elected Member of the PSA Board of Governors; and an Elected Member of the Audubon Artists Org. Marlene is also an Active Member of such prestigious arts organizations as the Woodstock Artists Association & Museum, NAPPAP, NYPAP & LongReachArts. Her work is in private and public collections throughout the country and is represented in the tri-state area.
