John A. Varriano is an award-winning representational painter. He has exhibited extensively and has won numerous awards, including an Honorable Mention in the 2014 Portrait Society of America Member’s Competition, Best in Show at the UCJF’s 2010 Fall for Art Show, and the National Art League’s 2011 Annual Exhibit, the Sanford Grumbacher Gold Medal, the Alfred and Mary Crimi Award, and the Guilia Palermo Award at the Audubon Artists Exhibit, NY. He was one of 20 artists chosen out of thousands to participate in the 2012 International Fine Art Exhibit in Chelsea, and was selected in 2012, 2013 and 2014 for the Hudson Valley Artists Association Annual Exhibition. Varriano studied at the Art Students League with Frank Mason and Gustav Rehberger. He currently teaches at the Art Students League of New York as well as at the Art Center of Northern New Jersey. He is represented by Mark Gruber Gallery in New Paltz, NY.
