Deadline for registration is 7 PM on the day before the first class. Any registrations received after 7 PM the night before the first class of the session will receive the pre-recorded video of the first class (or classes missed if session already began). Be sure to include your email address.

Learn the color, form and brushwork of painting different flowers. Learn how specific flower types have underlying geometric form. Demonstrations showing how to paint lilies, roses and peonies. Interactive discussion during homework review.

Week 1-Homework Assigned: Get 2 lilies to paint from life. Paint the 2 lilies on a panel as demonstrated in today’s class. Photograph the lilies from your vantage point in the same lighting as you painted them, and also photograph your painting in daylight. Upload the 2 photos to Dropbox for review.

Week 2-Lecture on how geometric forms are the underlying models for Roses. Q&A. Demonstration of painting 2 Roses. Q&A. Interactive review of completed homework.

Homework Assigned: Get 2 roses to paint from life. Paint the 2 roses on a panel as demonstrated in today’s class. Photograph the roses from your vantage point in the same lighting as you painted them, and also photograph your painting in daylight. Upload the 2 photos to Dropbox for review.

Week 4-Lecture on how to think of individual flowers in group bouquets. Q&A. Demonstration of painting a mixed bouquet of peonies, roses, and lilies. Q&A. Interactive review of completed homework. NO Homework Assigned.

Students will gain a better understanding and proficiency at painting flowers.
