Exhibition Tour & Talk with Exhibiting Artists of Wax Currents: Fusing Tradition and Innovation

Join us at the Woodstock School of Art (WSA) for an engaging in-person Exhibition Tour & Talk highlighting artwork from Wax Currents: Fusing Tradition and Innovation. Presented in partnership with International Encaustic Artists (IEA), this special event offers behind-the-scenes insight into how contemporary wax artists push the boundaries of one of the world’s oldest painting mediums.

November 14, 5:00 – 7:00 PM

Location: Woodstock School of Art (2470 Route 212, Woodstock, NY 12498)
Organized By: IEA Board Member, Exhibiting Artist, and WSA Artistic Director Heather Caufield
Funding: Made possible by a grant from International Encaustic Artists (IEA)

Guided Gallery Tour: Walk through the exhibition space to view diverse wax media works that bridge ancient encaustic roots with modern, boundary-pushing techniques.

Artist Talk & Q&A: Hear directly from featured artists as they share their creative processes, material choices, and personal approaches to such things as layering, texture, and luminosity.

Community Connection: Connect with fellow art enthusiasts and participating artists over light refreshments.

Admission is free and open to the public.
