ABOUT THIS CLASS
This class is for everyone interested in painting using oil or acrylic and/or drawing in pencil, charcoal, pen & ink, colored pencil, etc., regardless of experience. Bring what you have and we’ll work with your goals in mind and you will progress at a comfortable pace.
Painting students will explore hue, values, intensity, form, angles, measuring, proportion, symmetry, positive/negative shapes, composition, perspective, and overlapping shapes. Drawing students will comfortably experience a series of exercises tailored to the individual. While learning how to paint and/or draw can be challenging it is also fun and, to me, that is the most important aspect. Ages 16+.
Born in Woodstock, New York to a family of artists, Eric Angeloch studied at the Arts Students League of New York Summer School, The Art Students League in New York City on full scholarship and at the Woodstock School of Art where he has been an instructor for over twenty years. His work has been exhibited and collected internationally.
“Eric Angeloch, known for his superbly rendered, evocative, moody landscapes, focuses on the cusp of light and dark—his days leaning towards sunset or sunrise, his nights illuminated by pale moonlight or the last rays of a sun already slipped below the horizon. He paints from memory and imagination, relying on an exquisite sensitivity to nature combined with considerable powers of observation.”
