ABOUT THIS CLASS
$120 for 4 consecutive weeks
Deadline for registration is 7 PM on the day before the first class.
Printing Without a Press will be presented in 4 – 1 hour sessions. The process of creating monotypes and monoprints will be demonstrated as well as methods for printing images by hand. Waterbase inks, markers, and crayons are applied to a translucent nonabsorbent surface to create exotic reticulating washes and resists. Techniques will be demonstrated on how to print several image variations from the same plate and how to combine matrixes. Often, by staying with the same plate and reactivating the ghost image, amazing second pulls will result. Discover new personal imagery in unexpected progressions.
Each session will include a major phase of the print project. At the end of the presentation there will be time allocated for questions and answers via the internet. Develop a series of water-based monotypes/monoprints while following each lecture demonstration. This workshop will present so much info that will inform your future prints and artwork – Enjoy!
Use your drawings, collages, prints, photo ideas–or plan to work extemporaneously. This workshop will fulfill beginners to advanced printmakers.
Suitable for all levels, no experience necessary! Ages 16+
Maximum of 60 participants.
Thursdays 1 PM: August 6, 13, 20, and 27
