ABOUT THIS CLASS
This class will introduce students to digital painting on the iPad. If painting is the refining of marks until they create a viable visual experience on the “canvas,” the digital medium gives us a leg up with the art of this refinement. We gain familiarity with the options, brushes, and tools, available in Autodesk Sketchbook on the iPad. Then, working on separate layers as we go, we will make atmospheric paintings of what we see in front of us. Participants will hone their observational skills regarding color, shape, and form while exploring the Autodesk sketching and painting tools. By using the layers to their advantage, students will find that making changes using scaling, moving, and altering, of elements is easy and extremely rewarding.
Suitable for all levels; no experience necessary! Ages 12–18.
May 6–June 24, 2020; Wednesdays, 5–8 PM
