ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:
Picture Framing can be costly. These workshops are for artists, students and hobbyists who want to explore and develop cost effective framing skills for their art. Framing Techniques consist of
two individual sessions that will consist of lecture, demonstrations and ample supervised practice time. Students may elect to take one or both sessions according to their needs and individual skill
levels.
Matting and Mounting Techniques, this session will include:
- Types of mat board for two dimensional art
- Mat cutters, How to build your own mat cutter
- Design and layout, How to cut a single and double mat-multiple opening
- Archival matting and hinging, Tapes: what to use and what to avoid
- Dry and wet mounting for two dimensional art
- Materials, tools, suppliers
- Supervised practice time
- Question and answer session
Beginner and intermediate skill levels. Ages 16+

*In an effort to maintain our non-toxic environment, the Woodstock School of Art does not permit the use of turpentine or mineral spirits in the painting studios. Additionally, please refrain from wearing perfume, cologne, or scents of any kind. Learn more.

Please note that for workshops lasting all day there is a one-hour break from twelve noon to one PM. Students are invited to bring lunch and eat at the school or may go to any of the local dining establishments. The school does not provide lunch or refreshments.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
An award winning draftsman and painter who works in a variety of mediums, Bruce Bundock has taken his art down a variety of paths, from private commissions, illustrations, international postage stamp designs, and numerous exhibition venues. He received his B.F.A. from Maryland Institute College of Art and his M.A. from SUNY Empire State College. Additional Studies include Silvermine College of Art, Artists for Environment Foundation, Williamstown Art Conservation Center and The Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies. He was the former Museum Preparator of the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center of Vassar College, a position he held for 27 years. He is a member of the American Alliance of Museums, PACCIN, Portrait Society of America, and National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic.
Selected exhibitions include the Arnot Art Museum, Schenectady Museum, Albany Institute of History and Art, The Hyde Collection, Vassar College, Muscarelle Museum of Art, College of William and Mary, Marist College, National Academy Museum, Dutchess Community College, The Salmagundi Club and Brigham Young University. Bruce is scheduled to have exhibitions at Arkell Museum in Canajoharie,NY and the Greene County Land Trust in 2021.
Publications include American Artist Magazine, Acrylic Artist Magazine, Acrylicworks 4: Captivating Color.
