ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Robert Ohnigian is a Woodstock, NY-based collage artist who paints with paper. From the most minimal materials, he reconstructs an archive in geometric form. His compositions are at the same time delicate and magnetic, derived from the tones of the paper that he observes in its aging process. The result of his work is familiar, like the chambers of our memory. Ohnigian’s work is imbued with history. He was born in New York City in 1947 to a family of Italian and Armenian immigrants. Their ethnic experience greatly influenced his development as an artist.
