In this four week session, we will draw, paint and make collages with a variety of materials including graphite, hand painted papers, colored pencils and acrylic paints. Each class will begin by looking at images of great works of art related to the theme of the class that day. Students will then be led through a series of fun drawing exercises followed by a deeper investigation into the theme of the day, such as The figure, the self-portrait, Still Life or Landscape.
Each class will begin with a talk/group discussion about images that I will provide with slides and books that will provide inspiration for the class work that evening. The remaining time will be dedicated to studio time for the students to create. We will have a short wrap-up at the end where we will discuss what we learned from our class that evening.
The class is open to teens (13-18 years old), no experience necessary!
