ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
The figure as motive is irresistibly compelling and provides inexhaustible expressive potential for the artist. Drawing as such, adapts to the expressive modality and here the reduction of the human form into shapes and potentials of movement supersede the requirements of mimicry. Deconstructing the contour and exploring figure frame reference allows the figurative artist to change the paradigm and craft a figure drawing workflow that explores symbol, totem and myth. Moving outward from the arabesque, texture and shape are embroidered into trajectories for the eye.
Class will work from the live model.
