ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

Each day we will strive to create a 2-hour painting using solvent-free methods.

Suitable for all levels; no experience necessary! Ages 12+

An enthusiastic promoter of the pastel medium, Robert K. Carsten is a master pastelist in the Pastel Society of America and a master circle pastelist in the International Association of Pastel Societies. He is a member of numerous other Pastel Societies and is a contributing writer for the Pastel Journal and the Artist’s Magazine. Robert has participated in prestigious exhibitions nationally winning awards and prizes. His paintings were featured on the cover of and in the December, 2004 issue of Pastel Journal, in the Artist’s Magazine, American Artist Workshop Magazine, Pure Color/ The Best of Pastel by North Light Books, and in American Art Review. He is a much sought-after art workshop instructor, national art exhibition and awards juror, demonstrator, and panelist.

In an effort to maintain our non-toxic environment, the Woodstock School of Art  does not permit the use of turpentine or mineral spirits in the painting studios. Additionally, please refrain from wearing perfume, cologne or scents of any kind. Learn more.

Please note that for workshops lasting all day there is a one-hour break from twelve noon to one PM. Students are invited to bring lunch and eat at the school or may go to any of the local dining establishments. The school does not provide lunch or refreshments.
