A High Falls native in New York’s Hudson Valley, Savannah Baker is a graduate from the State University of New York, Purchase College where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking in 2017. Before Purchase she attended SUNY Ulster County Community College, majoring in Fine Art, for two years before transferring to Purchase College. While
attending SUNY Ulster, she participated in the Thompson Family Foundation Scholarship program at the Woodstock School of Art and took classes in monotype, drawing, and sculpture. Later, during her time at Purchase, printmaking stood out and became a creative calling.
Returning to the Woodstock School of Art, she became a monitor and press assistant. This was a perfect opportunity to join the community of artists. Fall 2017, Savannah was offered the position of print instructor at our very own Woodstock School of Art. February 2018 she received
the Thompson Family Foundation Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement. Savannah teaches Introduction to Printmaking on Saturdays.
