Carol Zaloom lives and works in Saugerties, New York. Largely self taught, she honed her skills at the Woodstock School of Art. As a linocut printmaker she has exhibited in many galleries throughout New York State, with solo shows at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy and Donskoj Gallery in Kingston. Her illustration work has appeared in many national publications, including Sky and Telescope, Yankee, and the magazines of the National Federation of Teachers. Her cover illustrations have appeared on books for Random House, Harper Collins, and David Godine, and multiple small publishers. Some of her work was translated into granite and iron and appears in the Catbird Playground in Carl Schurz Park, next to Gracie Mansion in New York City. She was awarded three Certificates of Design Excellence by Print magazine.
